Professional, collaborative and detail-oriented art director, strategic problem solver and storyteller with over 15 years of experience working with consumer, association and custom content magazines as an art director or designer. Strong communication and managerial skills along with broad-based graphic experience, including publication redesigns, photo art direction, logo design, and advertisements. Additional experiences include color correction, content development, project management and teaching an introductory graphic design course

A summa cum laude graduate of Drake University, I received a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication with a double major in magazine journalism and media graphics with an emphasis in graphic design. I was an assistant art director at the American Bar Association Journal and an associate art director at Midwest Living magazine before staying home to raise my family. During my break from full-time work, I taught an introductory course in digital media at my alma mater and contributed my design talents on a volunteer basis. I started my freelance design business in 2016 and started working full-time for Mittera Group in 2018 to art direct two bi-monthly magazines for clients and then moved to Grey Dog Media as a managing art director for Hy-Vee Seasons magazine.
